(General Description of Where the Fire Took Place)

Fire took place in house specially in kitchen during the day time when no one was in the home. Kitchen is well furniture in which number of home appliances were there. On the counter near the stove there is coffee maker as well as toaster machine which was plug in in the outlet and above the toaster there was a wall cabinet also there was a clock on the gas range and provide the time that it was 5:25p.m.

Background Information/Witness Information

It is found during the communication with homeowner family left for the day and during the retuned from the school, children found the house with full of smoke. They did no go inside and went to neighbor house to call their parents and fire departments. Homeowner also told that before they left in morning they, had breakfast and got ready for work and made a pot of coffee.

The fire department reached and originate a smoldering fire in the kitchen and noticed that damage is limited to kitchen and rest of the only smoke affected.

Description of Damage

There are several objects are considering for evidence and based on that find out the damage. The objects are Counter Top, Counter Area, Clock, Wall Cabinet, Outlet, Toaster, Charred Mass of Electronics, Coffee Maker, Glass Carafe, Burned Potato Chips, Melted Mass. It can be seen that fire was ignite from the outlet due to the spark plug and then fire propagates. Coffee maker was heated and embedded in melted plastic[3]. Below part of the wall cabinet was burn and it move to upward and also affect the side of wall cabinet and wall and change the color of it. Glass carafe was heated and melted the handle of it and the change the color of it. Charred of wire and cored mass are melted completely and spread over counter and make outlet to wireless switch.

Laboratory Result

After evaluation of evidence that are sent to lab for testing are coffee maker machine, outer, charted mass of electronics and toaster. Power switch on the coffee maker machine was ON and the coffeemaker was an older model with thermal overheat protection and it was completely melted[1]. During testing the outlet, it can be seen that the wire connection was look ok during the fire circuit breaker for this outlet did “trip” shutting off the outlet at some point during the fire. From the result data for the toaster that wire was melted and power switch was in off position and not cause for fire. For charred mass of electronic are under the effect of melting as well as deformation and not decide precisely whether it was in ON or OFF condition.

Evaluation of Evidence

(Include Discussion of Hypothesis Testing – What You Ruled out And the Reasons Why You Came to Your Conclusion)

From the evidence some hypothesis considered are as follow: (H- Hypothesis, R – Reason)

H1: probably fire may start due to the high electricity and cause of the ignition

R: from the evidence it can be seen that power switch was ON of the coffee maker machine and also the coffee maker machine was lack-off the thermal overheat protection and electric fire may be the reason of old wiring, overloaded electric outlet and extension cords

H2: behavior of fire was vertical to surface due to confined space and seem the convection behavior.

R: from the wall effect and wall cabinet, there may be the probability of flame move vertical upward and also distort burn patterns.

H3: low level heat damaged in the corner or one side of wall near the coffee maker machine.

R: No heat effect seen to exterior of most of structure that can be easily visible also from ceiling and one window show heat damaged. Only surrounding object were burn including toaster, glass carafe, and wall cabinet.

H4: The combustion was smouldering

R: the clock was not melted properly which was on the range the stove and there is no soot deposition surrounding it. The metal was too hot to allow to condense on the surface and not producing vapours after undergoes the surface reaction.

H5: Toaster was the probability of expanding the fire flame.

R: Toasters have electric elements inside that are used to brown your bread or bagel. If the toaster fails and doesn’t turn off, a fire can start. Leavening a toaster unsupervised and don’t remove the crumbs on the bottom of the toaster regularly chance to cause fire. Also from lab result toaster is switch off and it was reaming plugged in in the outlet It may be wise to unplug something else or find a different outlet[2].

H6: Flow direction of flame of fire area of counter to wall cabinet to wall through window.

R: unburnt section and from the lab result it can be stated that area of counter beneath was not burn completely means protected by the damaged and below part of wall cabinet burn completely then jet of fire move to upward through side wall and wall cabinet and it pass through side of the window which burn completely that show the flow of oxygen which is main parameter to fire and make the corner burnt completely.

H7: flaming fire effect move to upward direction and intersect with celling.

R: fire plum beneath the celling in convection behavior and move to celling space and flow over it that can be observed and also smoke fume affect the rest of room that may be the possibilities of fire fume.

Conclusion

From the above lab experiment it is concluding that, I learn that what is fire? How it propagates? and behavior of fire and mechanism or scientific methods behind it. First fuel was coffee maker machine as solid fuel and undergo smouldering combustion. it was reaming on and spark was produce as the ignition source. Area of origin was corner of coffee maker and outlet from that it was propagate to wall cabinet to wall and through window due to the main source of oxygen and then all objects are burn due to the convection behavior. Our analysis required use of a wide set of assumptions and decisions about analytical techniques that can introduce uncertainty into the results. Although we did not go to demeanor a correct improbability investigation, we have been watchful through our conversation of outcomes—and wish the reader to be watchful—that is, not to over-interpret minor variances in consequences among the extensive choice of energy causes and skills measured.
