Context
Choose a local or international organisation with which you are familiar.You must be able to easily obtain the required background information to enable you to respond to the Tasks. In answering the Tasks, you should assume the role of an experienced consultant hired by the Board.
Select a major project within your chosen organisation, i.e. a construction planning project, a project to organise major event, a project to introduce new software etc…

All of your answers must be based on this project.
You must provide a one-page summary of background information on your chosen organisation and project (250 words).
This must include:
▪ Sector of the organisation
▪ Size of organisation
▪ Key competitors

▪ Main markets where it operates (geographical locations)

▪ Main customer segments

▪ Examples of products and services

▪ Outline of the project
In addition to the above, you can include any other information which might be useful for the marker to help them understand the context of your answers. Your organisation summary is not included in the overall word count.

NOTE – The organisation summary must be completed and must accompany the submission otherwise the assessment cannot be marked.

Task 1 25 marks
Imagine that your chosen organisation has launched a major e-commerce software project to enable it to reach a wider market.
Critically analyse the strategic fit between this project and the corporate strategy of your chosen organisation.

Task 2 25 marks
The key role of a project manager is to deliver a task in future. This role may not be fulfilled without engaging the members of the project team (Mullins, 2016). Therefore, to deliver a project successfully, the project manager should not just manage but also lead.
Critically examine this statement for the project in your chosen organisation.

Task 3 25 marks
Critically discuss the key considerations in the identification and management of project risks. Support your answer with examples of individual risk factors relevant to the chosen organisation.

Task 4 25 marks
Critically evaluate the partnership approach to project management in the context of your chosen organisation.
