- Length: 500–750 words
- Due: Week 5
- Value / Rubric: 15% / 100 points
Purpose
This assignment provides an opportunity to critically analyze a chapter or significant concept from the first half of the course, connect that learning to nursing practice, integrate current scholarly evidence, and reflect on its significance to your developing professional identity. The first half of NUPD 735 focuses on scholarly writing; therefore, your selected topic must come from this portion of the course.
Assignment Instructions
Scholarly Evidence Requirements
Use a minimum of three peer-reviewed scholarly articles published within the last five years.
The required scholarly articles should be used to support analysis and application rather than simply summarized.
If your selected chapter or concept is drawn from a course text or Open Educational Resource (OER), cite that source when appropriate. The course source does not replace the minimum requirement for two peer-reviewed scholarly articles.
All ideas, evidence, and wording derived from another source must be cited appropriately using APA 7th edition conventions.
Writing and APA Requirements
Writing Assignment #1 Rubric – 100 Points
Both writing assignments use the same assessment criteria and point distribution. The rubric evaluates the quality of your conceptual understanding, critical analysis, application to nursing practice, scholarly evidence, personal insight, academic writing, and APA presentation.
