Introduction
Health literacy is a crucial component associated with the determination of well being of individuals as it empowers and enables them to make rationalized decisions regarding their health and avail the designed governmental and non-governmental policies for their upliftment (Rheault et al., 2019). This proposal will help in the development of social work plan to be implemented for the enhancement of health literacy in the Aboriginal population regarding COVID-19.
Aims and Objectives
This social action plan will be driven by the primary aim: Improvement of health literacy in the Aboriginal population
This aim will be fulfilled by the accomplishment of SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Timely) objectives that are:
- Assessment of the existing health literacy of the Aboriginal population in the area
- Development of health literacy campaign for the target population
- Assess the efficacy of the campaign
Campaign Plan
- Assessment of the existing health literacy of the Aboriginal population in the area in week 1 (DATE OF COURSE)
The existing health literacy will be assessed by conducting a survey with the target population in the first week. This will help in the identification of the primary limitations and help in the development of a specific campaign for action (Bryman, 2016).
- Development of health literacy campaign for the target population in week 2 and 3 (DATE OF COURSE): The campaign will be applied through conducting seminars, workshops, and visual representations (Blaikie & Priest, 2019)
- Assess the efficacy of campaign and social action by getting feedback in the final week (DATE OF COURSE): Feedback will be taken from participants to assess the efficacy of this plan (Bryman, 2016)
Conclusion
This document provides a proposed social work and action study to improve the health literacy of Aboriginal population of LOCAL STATE NAME. Through successful completion of this project, it is expected that the health literacy of the individuals will improve assisting in the improvement of their health status.
