Your task is to conduct the hazard identification, risk assessment and control process based on the hazard information provided in the work health and safety manual. Following this, you must develop a risk control plan using the WHS Risk Assessment Template.

Your WHS risk control plan must include all of the following information:

Background Information

You are working as a WHS Coordinator for the WHS team at GAB in the NSW branch, reporting to the WHS Manager, Jim McCardle. Overall, incident rates have slowly decreased; however the most significant increase in injury and illness claims was that of manual handling injuries, which grew by 41% from the previous period.

Jim has identified that the major risk area is the manufacturing department with 12 incidents. Jim has asked you help the WHS team in identifying the hazards, risks and potential controls to reduce the amount of manual handling incidents over the next three (3) months.

Part 1
