Class presentation of three assigned educational methods: This assignment may be done individually, in dyads or triads depending on the number of students in the class. The student group will prepare and present to the class for 10-15 minutes three of the assigned cognitive/effective educational system used in health education and health promotion such as (1) focus group discussion, (2) nominal group process, (3) case study, (4) role play, (5) simulation, or (6) psychodrama. The rest of the class will serve as appropriate target population/participants for the presentation. The student will use some or all class members in implementing the method. It is recommended that the method is rehearsed and practiced before the actual presentation. Some class time will be made available for this purpose while some time may be arranged outside the class. The presentation will be followed by constructive feedback by all classmates and instructor underscoring the strengths, weaknesses, and suggestions for improvement if any. The student group must submit a brief paper that documents planning that has been done for this presentation. The planning paper and the implementation of the assignment will be due on the assigned date. The summary of the feedback attached to the planning paper will be submitted to the subsequent class for grading. Following criteria will be used in grading the paper (For each shortcoming up to five points may be deducted):
- Planning paper (10 points)
- Setting the stage: Case description or scenario (including roles) etc. (10 points)
- Execution: Implementing (10 points)
- Debriefing at the end of the presentation (10 points)
- Class feedback summary (10 points)
