Task Description
This task uses the same case study information from Assessment 1 with additional data. Review the case study information provided for Assessment 1 and the additional case study information provided for Assessment 2.
Consider all the information provided, interpret and critically analyse the data and make recommendations on the human resource strategies (e.g.: recruitment, selection, training, performance, reward) that the case organisation should implement to address the emerging people management issues and achieve the organisation’s strategic goals.
The task requires you to:
a) Analyse the data to identify the strategic workforce issues facing ABC are;
b) Identify the key human resource activities required to respond to the identified risks (eg: recruitment, training, performance management or others);
c) Select one HR activity, review the related literature, and develop a detailed strategy for implementation, drawing on relevant theory and literature to justify your approach;
d) Recommend the key performance indicators that should be adopted to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the recommended HR strategy;
e) Use theory and literature on HR strategies and activities to justify and explain your recommended HR strategy and chosen analytics
In this assessment, you are required to draw on the information provided for Assessment 1 on the strategic issues facing ABC are, interpret the additional workforce information and projections provided for Assessment 2, analyse all the available information and make recommendations on HR interventions (activities) that would address the strategic workforce issues that you identified. In this assessment you are required to select (at least) one of the identified HR activities/interventions, such as recruitment, selection, performance, reward, learning and development, job design or any other identified HR activity, and describe your recommended approach in detail.
Your analysis should address the following three questions (in any structure or order):
1. What are the major workforce issues/risks facing ABC are?
2. What human resource activities will be required to respond to the identified issues/risks?
Outline potential HR activities to respond to the issues.
