• The basic idea is to investigate two companies that are known for their shared economy strategy in the hotel industry, Airbnb in U.S. and Home Away in China. Conduct a case study on these two companies, especially focusing on their strategic management. Check out the academic articles that wrote about these two hotels and conduct a comparison between “Airbnb” in U.S. and “Home away” in China in terms of Strategic Management perspective.
• The most important thing of this assignment is that all the strategic analysis has to be based on the Michael Porter’s 5 forces framework. This is what the professor is mainly expecting to see from this assignment because she lectured this terminology in this class. She wants me to apply this framework in my analysis of these two companies and find out some interesting facts from this procedure.
