Critical Review of an Academic Article (1500 words) Weighting\/Grade<\/strong> 20%<\/h2>\n

The aim of this task is to deepen students’ understanding of key Organizational Behavior (OB) theories and concepts through a critical analysis. Choose one of the foundational theories or concepts of Organizational Behaviour (e.g., Motivation Theories, Leadership Styles, Work attitudes (Job satisfaction, Affective commitment), Diversity or Human resource practices) from academic sources like Google Scholar or the Saudi Digital Library.<\/p>\n

Students will choose an academic article (Please attach a copy with your submission) from Google Scholar or the Saudi Digital Library. Writing a critical review usually requires you to read the selected text in detail and other related texts to present a fair and reasonable evaluation of the selected article. Being critical does not mean criticising negatively but deciding a text’s strengths and weaknesses.<\/p>\n

The following format is suggested: <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Introduction <\/strong><\/h3>\n

State the author(s) and the title, and briefly explain the topic of the text. Present the aim of the text and summarize the main finding or key argument. Conclude the introduction with a brief statement of your evaluation of the text. This can be a positive or negative evaluation or, as is usually the case, a mixed response.<\/p>\n

Summary <\/strong><\/h3>\n

Present a summary of the key points along with a limited number of examples. You can also briefly explain the author\u2019s purpose\/intentions throughout the text, and you may briefly describe how the text is organized. The summary should only make up about one-third of the critical review.<\/p>\n

Critique <\/strong><\/h3>\n

The critique should be a balanced discussion and evaluation of the strengths, weaknesses and notable features of the text. Remember to base your discussion on specific criteria. Good reviews also include other sources to support your evaluation (remember to reference). If there are both strengths and weaknesses for each criterion you use, you need to decide overall what your judgement is. You can also include recommendations for how the text may be improved in terms of ideas and research approaches; theories or frameworks used can also be included in the critique section.<\/p>\n

Conclusion <\/strong><\/h3>\n

This is usually a very short paragraph where you restate your overall opinion of the text and briefly present recommendations. If necessary, some further qualification or explanation of your judgement can be included. This can help your critique sound fair and reasonable.<\/p>\n

References <\/strong><\/h3>\n

To support your critique, please use additional references. This reference page should have a minimum of 5 references (including your stimulus article).<\/p>\n
