Part 1<\/strong>: Literature Review (Maximum 3,000 words)\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Part 2<\/strong>: Literature Review Report\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

For this assignment, you are to produce a 3,500-word Literature Review that discusses (summarise, synthesize and critique) a relevant topic area to your industry (guidelines are below for MHC and GBM students).<\/p>\n

This literature review will assist you to choose and focus your research topic in preparation for the completion of an independent research unit in either MHC611 or GBM914 and GBM909. Each of these units has their learning outcomes, assessment guidelines and expectations however the intent is to begin preparations for the proposal in this unit that can lead to the development of a successful research project in the following units.<\/p>\n

This literature review assists in the development of a research framework for understanding and interpreting the research issue you are investigating. You will undertake a review of literature of published academic research (minimum eight references) and explain the ideas and concepts you will use in your study. Given the focus of this course on Research Methods, a substantial amount of marks are attributed to the evaluation of the methods used in the articles or texts you are reviewing. This will be discussed in a tutorial and is reflected in the marking rubric below.<\/p>\n

You must demonstrate familiarity with a body of knowledge, show that you understand prior research and the methods used, and synthesize the literature reviewed concisely, coherently and clearly. Additionally, you must offer critique and insight to the materials you have reviewed. This assignment provides an opportunity for you to explore and focus on a topic relevant to your service industry and which can be viable for future research.<\/p>\n
