Comparing three CSOs Concerning Characteristics
CSOs that have been selected from the previous assignment were Bush Heritage Australia, Australia Koala Foundation, and Kyeema Foundation. Concerning the funding, Bush Heritage Australia is dependent on donations, support, and individual partnerships (BUSH Heritage, 2020). The management of the CSO in the context of the culture had gone through a shared journey of respect for diversity by enduring the relationship to the land and waters that preserve natural resources. However, the organization had faced challenges in protecting and connecting the landscapes and waterways for the plants, animals, and people. In this situation, the organization could be more concerned (Hudson, 2009).
On the contrary, the other CSO, the Australian Koala foundation, heavily depends on supportive organizations and individuals. To maintain an independent voice, the management of the organization did not accept funds from the government. However, this particular CSO had contributed very little towards the pause of the natural habitat, and hence there had occurred a massive decrease of Koalas. On the other hand, the management of the Kyeema Foundation manages its funding through the Australian NGO Co-operation Programme (Hudson, 2009).
In the context of values, Bush Heritage collaborated with traditional owners and set their strategies to make collaborate with the stakeholder and communities based on which the organizational culture can get well uplifted. However, the Australian Koala Foundation had managed themselves in different eructing institutions to conserve the Koalas, and in this way, they wanted to manage their organisation’s values (Koala Foundation, 2020).
Through the assessment, it has been found that the three CSO’s main purpose is to conserve and preserve the environment’s natural resources. For that, they are working on different perspectives and strategies to develop faster and accurate decisions. Again, in this matter, Kyeema Foundations had also tried hard to collaborate with different governmental institutions based on which they can uphold the competency levels and communities with proper integrity and transparency.
In the context of the Stakeholder Analysis, the employees under the Bush Heritage in Australia work with around 1000 people. Based on this, the actual resources can get utilized properly, and this way, the works carried over. However, for the Koala Foundation, in the context of stakeholder analysis, the workers always feel energetic and positive to work in different domains and always thrived on saving the Koalas. As per the Kyeema Foundation, the Australian Volunteers there had made a positive contribution by working hand in hand with diverse workforces with different talents to achieve the greatest outcome without fear (Kyeema Foundation, 2020).
Critical Understanding of CSOs Characteristics
In the context of the stakeholder analysis, the management of Bush Australia had reflected good practice governance and had avoided the complexities in every stage like always working with volunteers and partners to achieve a common goal in the future. Hence better impact had generated for this CSO where it endured better relations with the employees. However, in the context of managing powers, it is recommended that Bush Australia have better director panels with certain advisory groups based on which better planning for the future regarding the workforce management and strategic partnership goals can be set, creating a positive impact on the CSO. However, the CSO, Bush Australia, has better advisory panels with the help of which it can able to co-ordinate the preparation of the strategic plan along with effective investigation and greater governance procedures. It completed its works through different committees like finance, audit, compliance, etc.
On the other hand, Koala Foundation in Australia is not professional enough in handling the managerial decisions within the organization. Therefore, it should manage the staff and generate adequate training facilities for them so that they can be able to serve adequate ethical and legal responsibilities. But in the context of governance, the CSO is efficient and competent in ensuring adequate financial viability and resolving the conflicts and appointing the chief executives to set risk policies and undertake legal responsibilities (Hudson, 2009).
Kyeema Foundation, in this context, is having the compliances and the strategic vision to set their targeted goals and, at the same time, achieve them through effective team management, which will have a positive impact on the board as well as on the managerial approaches. The employees in the CSO in the context of stakeholder analysis work with proper accountability and objectivity so that the goals can be readily achieved with honesty and effective leadership functioning.
Importance of Critical Discussion Made
It is important to undergo critical discussions where the prime responsibility of CSOs is to manage the environment sustainably and, along with that categorizing the works with better governance and powerful managerial aspects. This is important to check the lacking weakness and the strong points of the CSOs along with the opportunities for the future. The purpose of doing critical analysis is to reflect the lags of the CSOs and hence recommended them for improvement. This way, the problems can be well addressed along with effective as well as professional performances.
