In this Formative Assessment, you are being asked to analyse the current situation of a company or not-for-profit organisation. This analysis needs to use the marketing concepts that we have learned so far in the course and should be written in the format of an academic paper.
Firstly, choose an organisation whose marketing you will study. It needs to be a trading entity such as: the company where you work; a small private firm; a Not for Profit Organisation (NPO); or even a major corporation. However, it would help if it is a business that you know well, and that there are publicly available references to the entity that you can use in your paper.
The organisation that you choose must respect the following criteria:
- to be a current organisation whose correct name is used
- to operate with competition: monopolies are excluded
- to not be Apple, Coca-Cola, Nike, Safaricom or Samsung as these have been chosen too frequently.
You will need to consult the presentation ‘Guidelines for Assessments’.
