Students are expected to complete their mini-case analysis and presentation based on assigned mini-cases available in the Laulima Individual Case folder under Assignments. Please check your assigned Individual Mini-Case. The final written report and presentation for the Individual Case this is due per the deadline on Canvas.

Your Individual Mini-Case Written Report and Presentation should abide by the following instructions:

1. The Individual Mini-Case Written Report should be 6-8 pages (12-point font, 1.5 spacing). It should be completed and submitted in either Microsoft Word (so either doc or Docx format) or a PDF format.

The structure of your written report should be as per the guidelines on the next page. Make sure to submit your Written Report on Laulima in the Individual Mini-Case folder under Assignments.

2. Your Individual Mini-Case Presentation should be completed using Microsoft PowerPoint or PDF format (please do not use any other format for this). The structure of your PowerPoint should be as per the guidelines on the next page.

Make sure you do not clutter your slides with too much content. You should have only three or four bullet points or key phrases per slide. Make sure to submit your PPT on Laulima in the Individual Mini-Case folder under Assignments.

3. Next, after completing your Individual Mini-Case PowerPoint, you need to share your PPT, record your Mini-Case video presentation using Zoom, and then email the mp4 file to me. All UH students have access to Zoom. If you do not know how to use Zoom or share your PowerPoint on Zoom to record your mp4 video presentation on Zoom, then follow the instructions in the video links below:

GUIDELINES for Your Individual Mini-Case Written Report & Presentation (PPT & Zoom mp4 recording)

1. Case Background

• Set the scene: background information, relevant facts about the case
• Questions that can guide you: What is the case about? Any milestones in the organization’s or individual’s career? What are the challenges the company or individual had to deal with in the past highlighted in the case?

2. Introduction

• Identify at least 2 strategy related concepts or topics (based on your readings) that the case hits on
• Identify 2-3 key problems and issues in the case study based on your own reading. Briefly state them in this section, you don’t need to elaborate in this section!

3. Body

Analysis/Discussion

• Analyze the 2-3 key problems you have identified in detail –this is where you go into depth and elaborate!
• Clearly relate how the issues relate to concepts or topics from our chapters
• Support your analysis with evidence (quotes, facts, figures, other examples) from the case

4. Propose Solution:

• Identify a solution that will address the issues highlighted in the case.
• If applicable, recommend other alternatives to resolve some of the issues—which may not be feasible at the time.

5. Recommendations

• Determine and discuss 1-2 specific strategies/recommendations for accomplishing proposed solutions to the problems identified in the short term (1-3 years) and long term (5 years or more).

6. Discussion/Conclusion

• Briefly summarize the key issues identified in the case & your solutions to them.
• Discuss any updates on the company looking over the Current Business News (in the past 5 years from reputable sources such as WSJ, FT.com, CNN Business etc.) that may lend itself to your case.
  • Include References for any articles cited using APA format
  • If you are not sure of a source, run it by the instructor
